Tour Builder¶

What is the Tour Builder?¶

The Tour Builder is an online web application available 24/7 from anywhere in the world using a recent version of a modern web browser like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. It is always up to date and you don't need to install anything on your computer.

The Tour Builder is where you go to:

Create a tour
Add a map to a tour
Add hotspots to a map
Add text and photos to a hotspot
Preview and publish a tour
And much, much more

Running the Tour Builder¶

To use the Tour Builder, you must be signed-in to your MapsAlive account. Sign-up for an account.

To run the Tour Builder, click the Login button in the MapsAlive website header.

Tour Navigator¶

You access the maps and hotspots in a tour using the Tour Navigator panel which appears on the left side of almost every Tour Builder screen. Below it is shown on the Tour Manager screen which shows thumbnails of each page in the tour.

One-Click icon bar¶

You can perform the most commonly used operations with just one click.

Edit the current hotspot
Add a new hotspot
Go to the Map Editor

Help is Everywhere¶

Throughout the Tour Builder, on every screen, for every option, Quick Help icons (an "i" inside an oval) provide detailed information about the option. In the screenshot below, the red arrows point to some of the Quick Help icons on the Popup Behavior screen.
